Plastic Pollution Solution Event at the MMF

On the community program at the Mullum Music Festival is Mullum Cares’s Plastic Pollution Solutions event at 5pm Friday November 18 at the Byron Community College (Mullum Campus).

Dave West from the Boomerang Alliance (pictured below) will headline the hour talk with a summary of what the state of play is with plastic pollution in our oceans and what solutions are ready to embrace.

Local high school activist India Flevell will share her experience with running two successful community engagement events targeting marine plastic pollution and her plans for the future.

Member for Ballina Tamara Smith will join Sasha Mainsbridge from Mullum Cares to give an overview of what’s happening in both their sphere’s of influence at the local and state government levels to bring about a ban on single use plastic bags.
